Since 2020 the Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) employees have been using the Areopad automated system for board and committees governance and decision making. In the meantime Digital Design has completed a number of updates to improve user experience. Now users can sign voting papers and dissenting opinions with digital signature, get notifications on the voting period.
SUEK is one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies, the leading coal, heat and electricity producer and one of the largest railcar and port operators in Russia. The company invests in modern technologies development and aims to use them in operating activities.
Since 2020 SUEK employees use a web client of the Areopad board management system for running board meetings and voting. Over the last year more than 600 meetings were held with help of the system. It made easier to manage documents and run remote meetings.
Board management automation project was completed by Digital Design, one of the leading Russian IT developers, and today the company continues to develop the system. Areopad automates the whole process of board meetings starting from generating a meetings calendar to tracking orders according to meeting minutes. Secretaries support the whole process; board members and invited participants take part in meetings and make decisions on discussed items in an automated mode. Meetings can be held face-to-face and remotely.
Board members can study materials in advance and secretaries can make subitems for discussion. It helps make more balanced decisions. If the agenda was updated employees get an information letter on e-mail. Areopad is available from SUEK local network and meets the company’s new information security requirements. Access management is based on user’s account in MS Active Directory, and users’ capabilities in the system are defined by their rights.
This year the system functionality was widened. Now users can sign voting papers with digital signature and get notifications if the voting period is about to finish.
