Digital Design launches mobile work space for top managers on iPad
Digital Design launches new version of decision support system for top management designed specifically for iPad.
The decision support system is built primarily to present information related to decision making process, such as key performance indicators, in a timely manner via user-friendly interface that is easy to understand and analyze with.
It has recently become an issue with top management representatives to find a complete mobile set of fine-tuned applications reflecting basic office PC functionality. Digital Design has developed a set of iPad applications that form a system aimed to satisfy everyday needs of a modern executive. These include:
- E-mail client is fully integrated with MS Exchange Server commonly used in the offices it provides convenient access to corporate e-mail with enabled group mailing, multiple accounts administration and digital signature. This module supports all types Office documents, has customizable alerts, fonts and spelling adjustment.
- Business intelligence is a server based application that provides contemporary service for business data analysis avoiding the costs of implementing any of well established BI-systems. BI module can be customized to whatever data the manager is dealing with on everyday basis, practically, regardless of its source.
- ReportViewer is closely related to BI module, with main focus on data visualization.
- Electronic folder - a specially designed application that provides convenient access to any current data in real time. This module is unique and implemented by integration with document management module.
- Document management module is based on Digital Designs very own DocsVision platform, one of the top-3 selling Russian document management systems.
- Printing server enables to print any content from e-mails, BI module, ReportViewer or else on corporate printers with established synchronization.
- Communicator tool provides synchronization with Office Communicator Server, which is considered as corporate standard for all Windows users. Communicator functionality also enables video calls.
All listed features of mobile work space are available both in on- and off-line. Efficiency indicators presented to executives can be linked to accounts of employees responsible for relevant activities in real time mode, enabling the user to promptly contact that person, organize a conference call, set a task and then monitor ones performance progress.
Mobile work space for top management on iPad is currently implemented at Russian Railways and is being used by vice president and other executives for key performance indicators monitoring, report analyzing and general administration and decision making purposes.
