Communication with Customer
Always establishing communication with Customer all joint activities are described in the detailed communication plan, which is to be approved by all stakeholders. This plan covers all interactions (i.e. project roles description and joint activities schedule), provision of reports, demonstrations of software etc.
Communication process in Digital Design usually includes:
- Project kick off meeting
- Communications map tailored to customer's requirements
- Modern tools for effective remote communications: video- and teleconferences, secured IM, portal solutions, etc.
- Constant availability of personal meetings with team leaders
There are two basic customer interaction models:
1. Classical interaction model of software development/maintenance process (click the picture to view it)
2. Partner collaboration model. Partner here provides marketing, analysis of the customer's business, implementation and deployment or maintenance of existing system at customer side or orders software development services for Digital Design (click the picture to view it).
Pricing and collaboration models:
- Nearshore or Dedicated Development Center (NDC or DDC)
This model includes placing a dedicated team of professionals who are 100% focused on development tasks of a particular customer and located in same or similar time zone as the Customer. While NDC means that dedicated team is working in Digital Design premises also with local control of project manager, DDC might be established as a stand-alone legal entity at the Customer's disposal. - Project based / Fixed cost
This model is used for well-defined projects, with clear sets of requirements. In this case project development efforts are estimated in person-months and fixed price is applied. - Time & material
The model is usually applied to the projects with significant R&D work required or to the projects with scope of work expected to vary during implementation as well as for the long-term technical support contracts.
